Sonia Whitehead

Moyock- Sonia Whitehead, of Moyock, died Tuesday, May 11, 2011 at her home with her family by her side after a long, courageous battle with ALS.

Born in Ponce Puerto Rico, November 11 1943, Sonia was a loving mother and Grandmother; she loved her family and loved her Horses. She was an avid rider and enjoyed living in the country and visiting the mountains and spending time camping with her family. Sonia chose to live out her days in North Carolina area because she loved the people, the land and the animals. She was full of life and always looked for the good in all.

Sonia is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jerry Whitehead of Moyock , her daughter Dena Fenton, and her son Lee Whitehead.  She is also survived by five grandchildren and one great-grandson and nine brothers and sisters. Family was very important to Sonia and she will be missed by all as we celebrate her life together.
