Family tribute, “Those who knew Mimi were blessed as she was the most caring and giving person. Her love for animals stretched from horses to dogs to even a skunk and a ferret. She took in every stray as her heart had room for everyone especially her fur babies. She loved a good cheeseburger, antiques and her home and gardens were always filled with unique treasures. She will always be in our hearts, she called us her sunshines, and she told her family she loved them to the moon and back. She will be forever in our hearts.”
Plans for a small memorial service are pending and will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the OBX SPCA in Manteo, NC. Condolences
Sweet Renee, I was so honored and blessed to have gotten to know you and call you my friend. Prayers to Pete and Teesa and family.
My sweet Renee, I will always cherish our friendship, how we would just talk for hours, and you calling to sing Happy Birthday to me or anyone who new you. Love you forever.
Renee has been a good friend for almost 35 years. We worked together, laughed together, cried together and raised out children with much hysteria!! Pete, I am so sorry that Renee has left us - I for one will miss her greatly. I can just imagine that she is looking down on us laughing hilariously and saying “ Ha, I left you with the mess!” Keep her in your hearts and treasure her memory always - love to all ❤️
I have know Renee since 1980. She was one of the first people I met at NASA. One of her “pets” was a blind rooster. She would tell us hilarious stories of the attack rooster who would chase her. We always said she should write a book about all her pet exploits. She was a good friend and will be missed.
Pete, Teesa, Todd, Linda... I am in shock to hear of the passing of Renee. My heart is broken. Renee and I would talk for hours about everything and nothing. When my Mom, Vera, was alive, Renee would always made sure to keep in touch with her. Mom always loved hearing from her, just like me. I will miss her cute Christmas cards with the hand drawn pictures, I will miss her voice, I will miss the smiles she put on my face with her funny posts...I will miss Renee...
I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Renee for several years through OB Hotline. Such a happy, dedicated and kind person who surely will be missed. Loving thoughts and prayers go out to Renee’s family and friends who are grieving, but, also, celebrating her wonderful life.
Dear Teesa and family, God be with you all and we are so sorry to learn of this loss. You and yours are strong and will always carry her in your hearts.
Teesa, We were so saddened to read of your mom's passing. Our condolences to you, Johnny and your family. Cheryl, Bob, Savannah & Elliot
Dear Pete, Tessa, Todd, and Entire Family: Losing someone you love is like losing a part of yourself. You miss them and who you were with them. Nothing will ever replace that. Every time your memory recalls a moment of laughter or the time you shared with our beloved Renee and the love she gave to all, (including the stray animals🥰), hopefully you will find comfort in remembering someone so special. With Deepest Sympathy, Alotta Taylor, NASA

It is hard to comprehend that we won't hear your voice and that laugh. I can picture you up there in heaven with Mary. You are both probably trying to find a way to remodel something!
So sorry for your loss. May many happy memories fill your hearts and the promise of eternal life give you some peace and comfort.
