Joseph M. Cornette

KITTY HAWK – Joseph M. Cornette, 73, of Kitty Hawk passed away at home, surrounded by family who loved him dearly, on November 17. 2015.  Born in West Chester, PA, he was the son on the late Herbert and Mae Cornette, of Avondale. He was preceded in death by a brother, David Cornette of Avondale.  Joe was a longtime mushroom grower and retired from Kitty Hawk Public works department.

Joe is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joan M. Cornette and his cherished son, Joseph, cherished  wife Susan and three beautiful grandchildren, Katie, Angela and Michael Cornette.  Also surviving are sister-in-law, Patti Cornette of Newark, DE as well as her children Krisi, and David, as well as Patti’s grandchildren, Kyle, Katie, Josh and Davon.

A memorial service will be held 1pm, Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Gallop Funeral Services at Milepost 16 on the bypass. Rev. Colonel Pratt of Halls Harbor Church of Christ will conduct the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Joe’s name to the Dare County Hospice.
