Gustav Eugene Steese

Kitty Hawk. N.C.- Gustav Eugene Steese of Kitty Hawk passed away Monday December 24, 2007 at the family residence.  Born in Akron, Ohio June 29, 1929, Gustav graduated from West High School and attended college in Washington, DC. While in Washington, he was employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI).

Gustav then relocated to Cumberland, Maryland where he began his 33 year career with the Kelly Springfield company.  In 1984 he retired to the Outer Banks of North Carolina along with his devoted wife of 57 years Eunice “Kit” Steese. Gustav and Kit became members of Grace Lutheran Church by the Sea and Gustav maintained his long-time membership in the Ali-Ghan Shrine Temple.

Besides Kit Steese, Gustav E. Steese is survived by one daughter, Jean Davidson and husband Ron of Kill Devil Hills, one son, G.E. Steese, II  and wife Billie Jean of Kitty Hawk, four grandchildren Melissa, Michele, Angela, and Logan; four great-grandchildren Michael, Abbey, Hannah, and J.C., and host of extended family and dear friends.

The family will hold a private memorial service in the near future. Memorial tributes to Gustav E.
