Elizabeth R. Pruitt

Elizabeth Rita (Frazier) Pruitt, 92, passed away on February 27, 2016 at Spring Arbor Assisted Living Facility, Kill Devil Hills, NC.  Born July 15, 1923 in Durham, NC, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Frazier and Sadie Mae Lemons Frazier and was preceded in death by her husband Roland Sterling Pruitt, son Ronald Walter Frazier, sister Catherine Mae McNeill, and brother William Lemon Frazier.

In 1954, she moved to Silver Spring, MD.  She moved to Sanford, FL in 1973 after retiring from the International Union of Unite Food and Commercial Workers, where she was an IBM keypunch operator. She returned to the Tar Heel state in 2014.  She was a Protestant and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, MD chapter 66.

Elizabeth is survived by two sons George Roland Pruitt and wife Christine, and Thomas Tracy Pruitt and wife Elizabeth; and daughter-in-law Melody Nagosta Frazier; nieces Barbara Jean Briggs and Juanita B. Woods; her cat Malibu; 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Feline Hope Animal Shelter (felinehope.org), Kitty Hawk, or to the animal rescue organization of your choice.
