Elizabeth K. Lowman
Kill Devil Hills- Elizabeth K. Lowman, 96, a resident of Spring Arbor, Kill Devil Hills, NC passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015 in Norfolk, VA.
Born in Baden, NC on February 24, 1919 she was the daughter of the late Emma Dorsett Kearns and the late Irvin S. Kearns. She was predeceased by her sister, Emagene K. Wilson and her brother, Martin M. Kearns.
She was a graduate of Asheboro High School and Saint Mary’s College, and worked as an office manager in the textile industry.
She is survived by one son, Kearns Lowman and wife Rhonda, one special great niece, Tammy Scott Hartwell and husband John of Gaithersburg, MD, three nephews, Max K Wilson and wife Susan of Phoenix, MD, Keith Murray and wife Susan of Nashville, Tennessee, and John Murray of Eagle River, Alaska, and four great-great nephews, John Scott Hartwell, Matthew Hartwell, Robert Hartwell, and Phillip Hartwell, all of Gaithersburg, MD, and two great-nieces, Kelly Branford and husband Mike and Karen Wilson, both of Phoenix, MD.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Colington Volunteer Fire Department, 108 Schoolhouse Road, Kill Devil Hills, NC.
The family will host a memorial service at Spring Arbor Assisted Living in Kill Devil Hills Thursday August 6, 2015 at 10:30 am. Rev. Tanya Young will officiate.
There will be a graveside service and burial at Pine Hill Cemetery in Burlington, NC Friday August 7, 2015 at 11 am.
