David Lewis Woody

David Lewis Woody 59, of Southern Shores died September 4, 2007 at the family residence.  Born September 26, 1947 in Roanoke, Virginia David was the son of Billy Carr Woody and the late Luella Frances Martin Woody.

D After relocating to the Outer Banks, David enjoyed many years compassionately serving local residents and visitors alike as the pharmacist at the Rite – Aid drugstore in Kill Devil Hills.

Always gentle and helpful to his customers, David will be greatly missed and remembered by family and friends as a loving husband and dad.  He also treasured his dog and spent many pleasurable hours fishing and enjoying the outdoors.

Left to cherish the memory of David Lewis Woody is his devoted wife Louanne Woody of the Southern Shores residence, two sons, Bryan David Woody and wife Rebecca of Greenville, and William Christopher Woody of  Kill Devil Hills;  his father Billy Woody and wife Carol Woody of Lynchburg, Virginia; one sister Judy Dixon and husband Merrill of Bristol Tennessee, his grandchild Matthew Woody of Greenville, and his mother-in-law Ruth Pahel of Lynchburg.

A service of remembrance was held Friday September 7, 2007 at 4 O’clock PM at the Gallop Funeral Services Chapel 6917 South Croatan Highway, Nags Head. The Reverend James Thomas Lowery officiated.  Memorial donations in David’s honor may be made to The Lung Cancer Alliance.
