Powell’s Point- Clifton Thomas Brown of Powell’s Point went on to glory peacefully in Barco, NC Tuesday October 10, 2017. He was 77. “Peter” as he was best known, was a Currituck County native. He was the son of the late Marshall and Lillie Mae Brown.
Peter was a lifelong farmer working with a variety of crops. For many years he was employed with the Newbern family of Currituck. Peter was also a member of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church. Gentle and generous by nature, Peter will be missed by many.
Clifton Brown’s survivors include one sister, Mary Anne Gallop of Norfolk, VA and numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins from all over the United States. He will be especially missed by his niece and primary caregiver Emma Ray Jones (Ronald) of the Powell’s Point residence and by his niece-in-law, Habecca Lindsey (Bennie, Sr.) also of Powell’s Point.
The family will hold a memorial service Saturday October 21, 2017 at 1 pm at Living Word Outreach Ministry in Grandy. Bishop Emma Jones will officiate.
