Zachariah Dylan Thompson

Kill Devil Hills –  Zachariah Dylan Thompson, of Kill Devil Hills, NC passed away in Virginia Beach, VA Thursday May 18, 2017.  He was 41.

Zach or “Slappy” as he was lovingly known, was an avid surfer and a talented artist and musician.  Zach had a way of making everyone feel like their friendship with him was special and unique.  He had a heart of gold and the kindest soul.  If you were lucky enough to be loved by him, he would protect you fiercely.

Left to carry on Zach’s unique zest for life are his parents, Jon and Linda Thompson of Kill Devil Hills; his sister, Katie Thompson Glover and brother-in-law Matt Glover; his nephew, Gavin all of Fort Mill, South Carolina and extended family members; his surfing family; and many truly loving and devoted friends.

The celebration of Zach’s life will be held Friday May 26, 2017 at 3 pm at Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. in Nags Head.  Rande Banks will be the officiant. In lieu of flowers, the family invites those wishing to honor Zach’s memory do so with a donation to the First Flight Lions Club or to a charity of their choosing.
