Theodore Dee Tranquillo
Theodore Dee Tranquillo passed away peacefully June 3, 2016 at the age of 78, surrounded by the love of his family. Dee was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and loyal friend. He lived his life with quiet strength, a generous heart, and a deep love for the people who mattered most to him. Whether sharing stories, offering advice, or simply enjoying time with family, Dee made those around him feel loved and valued.
Above all else, Dee cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved bride, Rita; and his four daughters, Toni, Sherry, Lena and Olivia. He also leaves behind his five treasured grandchildren and three great-grandchildren whose laughter brought him endless happiness as well as his sister Cheryl Bolton and brother Steven Tranquillo.
Dee’s love, guidance, and unwavering support will continue to live on in their hearts. Dee had a special connection to the water and found peace in fishing. Some of his happiest moments were spent casting a line with his daughters, watching the sunrise over the water with his bride, and appreciating the simple beauty of God’s creation.
Dee taught those around him the value of patience, hard work, and gratitude. He was very proud of his time spent in the US Army serving the country he loved before he worked and retired after 30 plus years at the Norfolk Ford plant of Virginia. Those who knew Dee will remember his warm smile, his sense of humor, and his ability to make people feel welcome. His presence brought comfort, and his memory will remain a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Dee leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and faith that will continue for generations.
The family is honoring Dee’s preference for cremation and they will be hosting a private celebration of Dee’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations to assist with medical and final expenses are being gratefully accepted via the family’s GoFundMe account at gofund.me/6211c2513 .
The Fisherman’s prayer: I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray: When in the Lord’s great landing net and peacefully asleep, that in His Mercy I be judged as big enough to keep. Forever Loved Forever Remembered.
