SANDRA NICHOLS TOSH
Daughter of Clyde & Ada Nichols. Wife of Lee. Mother of Bryan and Brett. Sister of Mike, Janet, Sharon, Brenda, John and. Aunt to Michael, Jessie, David and Mary. Great-aunt to Tyson, Trenton and Kellen. Step-mother to Raymond and Misty. Grandmother to Robbie, Kyrien, Caroline, Malisha, Savannah, Bryce and Tyler. Godmother to Grace. Surrogate mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and a good friend to too many to name; you know who you are. Concerned friend of all. She saw through the facades and demanded honesty and in return gave love and loyalty.
Sandy is a graduate of Toronto Bible College with a degree in Youth Ministries and a licensed LPN. For many years she was a faithful worker for the Union Mission Ministries/Hope Haven as camp director, house parent and any other position that was required. Her time at Camp Hope Haven with Danny, Nancy, Gay and others were some of her happiest memories. She was also a Sunday School teacher for youth and adult women. She was the driving force in founding the Jarvisburg Christian Academy and was also its first principal. She was a leader in numerous Christian women’s groups and classes.
A faithful servant of God who will be sorely missed by all she touched.
Visitation will be at Powell’s Point Christian Church, 197 Church Rd., Harbinger, NC; Friday February 7,2014 at 6:00pm-8:00pm. The Memorial Service will be at the same location starting at 11:00 am, Saturday February 8, 2014. All who wish to honor Sandy are invited to speak. Those who wish to write a memorial are invited to bring them to post on a bulletin board that will be provided.
Please donate to the Union Mission Ministries/Hope Haven and/or send flowers to the staff at the Sentara Nursing Center in Barco, NC in lieu of flowers for the memorial service.
I wish to personally thank all of the care givers and all other staff members at Sentara Barco. Their care for Sandy was far beyond any expectations I could ever have. Their concern for me was so helpful in all of the time Sandy was there. All of the staff should be commended for their personal care of all of their residents and families.
Condolences to the family may be expressed via the online register at www.gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements.
