  1. Bob was one of the good guys. I’m so sorry for your loss. He definitely had a positive outlook and enjoyed life and his family ( and good food)

  2. Our entire family was deeply saddened of the news of Bob’s passing. We have so many great memories from our time together on Sunset Avenue. Bob’s caring and gentle nature was a blessing to us all.
You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

  3. Dear Boyd Family,

Bob was a “staple” in the best way. He loved his family and and his colleagues. His love really soared with his son Brandon (who worked alongside of him) and all of his gorgeous and handsome grandchildren. If anyone had a problem, he had either a solution or a prayer. That’s the Bob that we knew.

He was kind of a Santa Claus. He always had a smile on his face and a handshake, hug or joke to tell.

It’s hard to say goodbye to him. When we moved here 25 years ago we became part of his inner circle. That was a gift he gave us… “Yankees who never leave the OBX”. That’s why our license plate is “OBXDMYNX”.

Bob was a strong, caring and loving man. He’s someone to look up to. It was our pleasure to know him and know his family in person or on Facebook.

We might be missing his “Celebration of Life” but due to some other med issues we can only be there in spirit. Just know ALL of you are in our prayers and know he is in Heaven.

Please find the peace to enjoy your memories.

    With all our love,
    Ralph and Dana Falardeau.

  4. Even though I only knew Bob for a year while at RA Hoy, he was a really nice guy. My condolences go out to his entire family.

Robert “Bob” Boyd

April 27, 2025

Robert “Bob” Boyd, age 67, of Kill Devil Hills, NC passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, warmth, and unwavering joy. He never met a stranger — only friends he hadn’t made yet.

Born on January 15, 1958, in Lancaster, PA Bob graduated from Solanco High School in 1975. He found happiness in life’s simple pleasures: camping under the stars, casting a line into quiet waters, admiring classic cars, and building things with his hands. Above all, he enjoyed gathering family around a table filled with the food he cooked with love. He was rarely seen without his loyal dog by his side.

Bob was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a beloved grandfather. He is survived by his wife Diane, two children; Brandon and wife Katie, Kayla and partner Daniel, nine grandchildren; Avery, Aubree, Zachariah, Pierce, Ryana, Cannon, Asher, Chasen, and Everly.  Who will carry his spirit in their hearts — spreading joy, sharing freely, and loving deeply, just as he did. He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings: Elaine and husband Rick, Jerry, and Richard (Junior) and wife Lisa, along with a wide circle of extended family and friends.

Though his laughter has fallen silent, the echoes of his spirit will remain with us always — in every hearty chuckle, every kind gesture, and every bright sunrise that reminds us to be a little lighter, a little kinder, and a lot more joyful.

A celebration of Bob’s life will take place on Saturday, May 17th at 4:30 PM. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather for a relaxed, backyard-style barbecue at Brandon’s home at 152 Madeline Drive in Manteo — to share memories, laughter, and the spirit of togetherness that Bob cherished.

Please leave a message of comfort at gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services was entrusted with arrangements.
