Peggy Taylor Ambrose

Peggy Taylor Ambrose, 82, of Manns Harbor, North Carolina, passed away on November 12, 2024, in Norfolk, Virginia. Peggy leaves behind a legacy of warmth, resilience, and love that will forever be cherished by her family and friends. Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Robert Larry Ambrose; daughter, Sonya (Joe) Crawford; two grandchildren, Joseph Taylor Crawford and Lauren (Jordan Daniel) Crawford; one great-grandson, Benjamin Shudark; brother Tommy Taylor; and many other extended family and loving friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Taylor, father, Wallace Taylor, and brother, Bill Taylor.

A lifelong resident of Manns Harbor, Peggy’s roots ran deep in the community. She was a dedicated member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, whose fellowship and faith were central to her life. For over 55 years, Peggy was a dedicated employee of Kellogg’s Supply Company, where she served with unwavering commitment before retiring. Peggy found joy in the natural beauty around her and especially adored eagles and learning the bird calls of the many different types of birds on the Outer Banks. She was also a passionate traveler who loved reading cookbooks and sharing those recipes with her family.

In accordance with Peggy’s wishes, no services will be held. Her family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support, which reminds them of the powerful legacy Peggy leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Peggy’s name to the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church or Harbor Light Church in Manns Harbor. Please leave a message of hope at gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services was entrusted with arrangements.
