Myrna R. Barrett

Myrna R. Barrett, 82, passed away February 12, 2021.  Mrs. Barrett was born in Kinston, NC to the late Elbert Lake Rouse, Jr. and Ruth Elizabeth Hamilton. She is predeceased by her husband, James Arnold Barrett, after 43 years of marriage. Myrna lived in Currituck, NC with her daughter and son-in-law, Windy and Tony Dongarra, and grand-children, Jesse and Colleen.  She is predeceased by her daughter, Karen Renee Furman.

She is survived by her stepmother, Frances Rouse; her daughter, Windy Dongarra, and son-in-laws, Tony Dongarra and Richard Furman; her brother, Elbert Lake Rouse, III; her stepsister, Diane Jarman; her grandchildren, Anthony, Colleen, Jennifer, Jesse and Troy; and her great-grandchildren, Betsy, Eric, Jaeda, Isabel, and Patty.

The Barrett Family would like to express gratitude to Outer Banks Home Care and Chesapeake Regional Hospital for the care shown to Myrna and her family. The family has arranged a private funeral service to be held in Currituck. Mrs. Barrett will then be laid to rest next to her husband at Moyock Memorial Cemetery in Moyock, NC.
