Martin Lewis Hardy, Sr.
Martin Lewis Hardy Sr., 64, died of natural causes in Virginia Beach, VA August 19, 2022. Marty was born to parents Jack Lewis Hardy and Mary Francis Hardy on January 25, 1958 in Alexandria, VA.
Marty as he was known by his family and friends, was well known in the area from his employment with Manteo Ice Plant many years ago. Marty also spent 23 years working maintenance in Duck, NC with Barrier Island. In his free time Marty loved to go fishing and spend time with his family. Marty spent a lot of time with his good friend/brother- in-law, Bill Congleton who sadly passed away this past June.
Marty was the father of Martin Lewis Hardy Jr. (wife Dorren) and grandfather to his granddaughter Aubree Muir. Marty leaves behind two sisters, Rosemary Broadhurst (Jim) and Michelle Congleton; two brothers, Terry Hardy (Mona) and Carl Hunt; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack Lewis Hardy and Mary Francis Hardy; brothers, Joseph Earl Hardy Sr. and Myron Lewis Hardy James.
The family is planning a memorial gathering to honor Marty in October. Details will be announced soon. Expressions of sympathy and comfort may be shared via the on-line register at www.gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements.

Oh my, i am having a hard time believing that Marty is no longer here. What a blessing it has been to know and love you Marty, my heart is just crushed. Deepest condolences to Marty Jr and the family, may God Bless you in this time of grief.
