Marie Pierce Treakle

Moyock – Dedicated Wife, Loving Mother, Sister, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Marie Pierce Treakle age 77 of Moyock passed on to be with The Lord after a long battle with cancer on July 4, 2014. She was a passionate, crafty, strong willed and quick witted woman now smiling down on us. Anyone who had the privilege to spend time with her knew her love for art and crocheting and inventive ideas. As well as gadgets she thought up , that she always shared with others. She is preceded by her husband Herbert “Treakle”, father Bradley Pierce, mother Lilly Tolliver, brother BM Pierce, and son Roger Treakle.

She is survived by her son Chris Treakle, brothers Kenneth and Mac Pierce, sister Phyllis Miller. Her grandchildren Josh, Jennifer and Troy Treakle, Paula Grey, Jennifer Rose, Sam, Brian, Geoffery, Justin Treakle, and 7 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all that loved and knew her. Flowers may be sent care of Gallop Funeral Services in Nags Head. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
