Margaret Simione Elsarelli

Nags Head- Margaret Simione Elsarelli, 94 formally of 148 Monitor Road, Portsmouth Virginia, went home to be with her Lord July 24, 2008 in Britthaven Nursing Home, Nags Head, North Carolina.

She was born February 22, 1914 in Wilmington, Delaware to Genoveffa (Jenny) Teoli and Alfonzo Simione of Hershey, Pennsylvania.  She had worked for Hershey Foods Corporation and Star Band Company.  She was a wonderful and devoted mother and grandmother.  She was a friend to all.  The loves of her life were her Lord, her family, and her work.  She enjoyed Italian cooking, sewing, and gardening.   The faith, values, and traditions that she lived by will stay with us forever.  She is dearly loved and will be missed by all. She left us precious memories which are with us every day, deeply tucked in our hearts where they will always stay.

Left to cherish her memory are a son, Lt. Col. (retired) Leon Elson Elsarelli (Marge) of Sutherland, Virginia; a daughter, Barbara Elsarelli Lawrence of Nags Head, North Carolina; special daughter-in-law, Constance Carr of Colonial Heights, Virginia; grandchildren, Rebecca Elsarelli Helton (Michael) of Penn Laird, Virginia; Lt. Col.(retired) Leon Elso Elsarelli (Mary) of Las Vegas, Nevada; Dallas Christopher Lawrence (Stephanie) of San Antonio, Texas; and Michael Shannon Lawrence (Misty) of Wilmington, North Carolina; great-grandchildren Kendall Helton of Penn Laird, Virginia; Colleen Helton of Newport News, Virginia; Megan and Douglas Elsarelli of Las Vegas, Nevada; Kennedy Paige Lawrence of Wilmington, North Carolina; a brother, Frank P. Simione (Gladys) of Hershey, Pennsylvania; two dearly loved friends, Mary (Beta) Hixon and Helen Verdelli of Hummelstown, Pennsylvania and loved nieces, nephews, and neighbors.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Elso Elsarelli of Portsmouth, Virginia; sisters Josephine Simione Andrione of Hershey, Pennsylvania; Carmela (Minnie) Simione Clerici of Palmyra, Pennsylvania; Angelina Simione Wallace of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Anna Simione Deliberato of Coatesville, Pennsylvania; brothers Ralph Simione and Anthony (Tony) Simione of Hershey, Pennsylvania; and a son-in-law, Dallas Lawrence, of Chesapeake, Virginia.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday July 31, 2008 at 11 am in the chapel of Hoover Funeral Home, Hershey Pennsylvania.  A visitation will be held from 10 am to 10:45 am.  Burial will be held at the Hershey Cemetery and a “Celebration of Life Reception” will be held at the Hotel Hershey following the services.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to her many wonderful care givers at Britthaven Nursing Home whose assistance, support, and love has been invaluable over the course of her illness with Alzheimers.
