Kathleen A. Maurer

Kathleen “Kathy” A. Maurer, 88, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025 in Nags Head, NC. Kathy was born on April 30, 1936 in Bayonne, New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Catherine Reid; her husband, Frederick John Maurer; and sister, Joanne ‘Reid’ Fox.

Together with her husband, Kathy raised four children in Bridgewater, New Jersey. She enjoyed spending time with family, playing bingo, doing puzzles, and playing with her dogs. Kathy worked as a receptionist at the Bridgewater YMCA pool for years, making many friends in the community. She loved spending time with her BFF, Carmen Augustine, and her daughter Marina sharing laughs and memories.

Kathy moved to Kill Devil Hills in 2019. She loved to sit on the porch, enjoying the wildlife and fresh air. She always had a friendly wave for everyone who passed by.

Kathy is survived by her sister, Barbara ‘Reid’ Combs of San Diego, California, a daughter, Kathy Maurer (Maria) of Lanoka Harbor, NJ; and three sons, Matthew Maurer (Lynn) of Mannasquan, NJ, George Reid Maurer (Lilliam) of Costa Rica, and Dave Maurer (Kelly) of Kill Devil Hills, NC. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Maddie, Cassie, Sean and Kelly, and four great grandchildren.
