Jeanne Hall Sykes

Kitty Hawk – Jeanne Hall Sykes, 92, passed away at her Hatteras home on February 15, 2014. She was born in Portsmouth, VA but resided on the Outer Banks since 1977.

She attended Longwood College and worked for the Sea Board Railroad, Dr. Long, and Kitty Hawk Painting.
Her greatest joys were cooking, hosting family gatherings, traveling and a good competitive game of dice or Boggle. She taught us to love, to laugh, to be thankful and to do it with manners, grace and a little twinkle in your eye.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Milton P. Sykes, Sr. and her grandson Hall Sykes.
Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Milton Sykes (Rose Sancilio), Dianne Hall (Jimmy), Steve Sykes (Judy), and Barbara Lifsey (John); her grandchildren Jeanne Hicks, Marye Holland, Kim Pocock, Amy White, Neil Sykes, Mimi Sykes and Brittney and Nathan Lifsey, nine great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

We would like to thank Dare Hospice for their compassion, kindness and friendship.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00, February 21st at Our Lady of the Seas Catholic Parrish at 48478 Hwy. 12, Buxton, NC.  Memorial donations may be made to Dare Home Health and Dare Hospice, PO Box 1000, Manteo, NC 27954.
