Irene G. Basnett
FRISCO – Irene G. Basnett, 84, passed away on January 1, 2022. She was recently predeceased by her husband Howard Wayne Basnett.
She was born on September 2, 1937, to the late Loranzy and Lola Gaskins.
Irene is survived by her son, Charlie H. Barnett and wife Donna Barnett, her daughter, Debbie Adam and husband Charlie Adam; sister, Susie Bristow, grandchildren, Brett Barnett, Colin Barnett (Abby), Hannah Barnett, Jessica Adam, and Jennifer Adam (Katy) and great grandchildren, Grayson Barnett, Gannon Barnett, Kaden Boye and Kai Boye. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews who dearly loved their Aunt Irene.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son David Thomas (Tommy) Barnett; brothers, Lindsey Gaskins, Paul Gaskins, Ranzy Gaskins, Herman Gaskins; sisters Zilphia Moscardini and Salina Farrow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation or a dementia foundation of your choice.
A memorial celebration will be held on Saturday, February 5 at 2 p.m. at Little Grove United Methodist Church.

You just need to know that there are many memories and that is what helps us through times like this. She was loved and you and your families are as well.
