Diane E. Fernandez

Diane Elizabeth Fernandez was born and raised in Connecticut, retired to Grandy, North Carolina, and on Sunday, March 24, 2024 went home to live eternally with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Born to the late Donald and Barbara MacPherson and predeceased by her husband Jose’ (Pepe) Fernandez, she is survived by her maternal aunts, Janice Pickert and Michelle Erickson (husband Charlie), and her paternal aunt Beverly Osborne.

Diane will be dearly missed by her beloved son, Donald Fernandez and his wife Dara; and by her treasured grandchildren, Dominic and Dezelene; her sisters, Linda Rajock, Patty Johnson (husband Gary), and Maureen DeMarco (husband Hank); as well as her brother, Gary MacPherson (wife Terri) feel the loss of their eldest sister keenly. Diane also leaves behind many dear cousins, nieces, and nephews; and many cherished friends.

Our family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice for their kind and attentive care. We would also like to express our deepest appreciation to our New Life of Currituck Church family for demonstrating their beautiful faith and heart for Jesus Christ. It blessed Diane deeply and brought her joy and encouragement, leading her to her new home.

A memorial service to celebrate Diane’s life is planned for Tuesday, July 23rd at 6:00 p.m., surf-side at 9101 S. Old Oregon Inlet Rd. Nags Head, North Carolina, followed by a casual gathering of friends and family with hors d’oeuvres and beverages. Diane said, “Bring a beach chair!” Please share an expression of sympathy with the family at www.gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services was entrusted with arrangements.
