Brent Allan Crocker

March 17, 2024

Brent A. Crocker, known as “Bait” or “Crocker” to his friends, passed away unexpectedly in Chesapeake, VA Sunday March 17, 2024, at the age of 63. Born January 19, 1961, he was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Sally Crocker and his sister, Theresa Crocker. He is survived by his son, Kyle Raymond Crocker and his brother, Kent Crocker.

Growing up in Richmond, Virginia, Brent developed lifelong friendships with the neighborhood kids he attended school with. After high school, he attended trade school to be an electrician. Brent’s career started in Virginia where he owned Statewide Electric Company before expanding into boat building. Brent then became a marine electrician/mechanic and boatman at Tiffany Yachts.

In the early 1990’s Brent moved to the Outer Banks to work with Buddy Davis at Buddy Davis Boatworks. He then worked with Buddy’s son, Wade Davis, at Davis New Generation Boatworks. He also worked at Griffin Marine, later at Bluewater Outer Banks Yacht Services, and finally at Safe Harbor Outer Banks. Brent also made trips, operating up to 70-foot sport fishing boats, from Wanchese to Florida.

Brent loved being a father to Kyle Ray. Their snowboarding adventures, days at the beach, fishing trips and epic Las Vegas vacation were just a few ways he shared his adventurous nature with his son. Brent was sincerely loved by the Outer Banks community, his lifelong friends, and his boat building family. He will be truly missed by all.

Kyle Ray would like to extend his gratitude to everyone for the outpouring of love and support he felt during this difficult time. Brent’s memorial service will be held at 3pm on April 6, 2024 at Nags Head Church. Please share an expression of comfort with the family at www.gallopfuneralservices.com.  Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements.
