Benjamin Andrew Burge, Jr.

June 2, 2024

Benjamin Andrew Burge, Jr, age 72, of Kill Devil Hills, passed away peacefully in his home on June 2, 2024. He was born September 1, 1951.

‘Andy’ as he was known by most, was a quiet man who enjoyed staying busy, spending time with his son and grandchildren, and finding solitude in watching classic Western movies (despite having seen them all numerous times). Andy was a kind heart who would do anything for his family and friends. And while he and his son spent many hours around a grill cooking various pieces of meat, Andy simply enjoyed passing on his skills to the next generation of grillmaster.

Andy was predeceased by his parents, Dorothy Mae Burge and Benjamin Andrew Burge, Sr., his son, John Burge, and his love, Elizabeth M. Paulsen. Left to cherish his memory is his son, Benjamin D. Burge of Kill Devil Hills, NC; his sister, Johnnie B. Quinn (Van) of Charlotte, NC; and his brother, Robert Burge (Brenda) of Kitty Hawk, NC. Along with numerous nieces and nephews, Andy, or Paw-Paw as he was known to them, is also survived by his grandchildren, whom he loved deeply.

A service honoring Andy will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 6:00 pm at Gallop Funeral Home in Nags Head. Additionally, the family will celebrate Andy’s life with family and friends on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 4:00 pm at the home of his brother, Robert Burge. Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements. Condolences to the family may be shared at www.gallopfuneralservices.com.
