Barbara Ann Franklin

Grandy, NC – BarBara Franklin, 63, of Grandy, died Wednesday, July 6 at Outer Banks Hospital under the care of an amazing nursing staff.  Born March, 15 1953 in Grand Haven, Michigan, she was the daughter of Larry and Joyce Williams who currently reside in Sun City, AZ.  She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Dennis Franklin her daughter Angela and her husband Michael Woerner and her two grandchildren Abby and Keegan and her brother Steve Williams.

BarBara served 10 years in the US Navy and held multiple administrative jobs throughout her career.  Her last position was with The Pool Guy where she was treated like part of the Hanig family.  Throughout her amazing life she enjoyed playing golf and watching Michigan football on Saturdays.  Her favorite joy was the time she got to spend with her family.

Below is something her daughter Angela wrote to commemorate her memory of her mom:

“How life can change in a sec … Tell the ones that mean the most just how important they are to you.  Don’t hold back … Smile today knowing that heaven has gained the most amazing women and she will watch over everyone whom she loved the most!  One day at a time …… I will miss you BarBara Williams Franklin, you weren’t just my mom but my best friend.  You loved me unconditionally, showed me how to be a true lady and taught me how to be a great momma.  You told me not to put up with anyone’s bullshit, but most of all you stood by all of us no matter the good or bad.  I hope I’m half the women you were .. I love you … Rest in peace.
