  1. Morgan and Logan, so sorry to hear about your Dad. I remember meeting Ray shortly after moving into the same neighborhood. Our Children were the same age and attended school and cheered together. He was such a kind and gentle man who loved his family. He always expressed an interest in my work (Police Officer) and wanted to do a ride along. We tried for over a year to make it work but with his busy schedule it seemed to never work out. One night I was working midnight shift and ran into Ray about 10:00, I kind of high-jacked him and we rode around until about 2:00 am. He really enjoyed the night but said he had to go to bed…said he did not know how I could do that for 30 years!!! I’m sad but know Ray had a love for our Lord and is with him now…God speed Ray… Peace be with you.

  2. Linda, I am saddened by the passing of Ray, but happy to know that he was loved and had you in his life. My prayers are for you and his family that you find peace.

  3. My deepest condolences go to Ray’s family, you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I was one of Ray’s classmates in high school. He was always very easy to talk to and carried a smile on his face everywhere he went. Ray was a very kind and friendly person to all. God Bless him and his family. Mary Lou

Ray Elliott Hollowell, Jr, was born April 22, 1944 and went to be with the Lord on May 6, 2026 in Ames Hospice House near Cleveland, Ohio with his daughters by his side.

Born to Elizabeth Blanchard Hollowell and Ray Elliott Hollowell, Sr. in Camden, North Carolina, Ray attended Camden County High School and the University of North Carolina in Charlotte with a degree in business. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and lived in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he began his career as a real estate developer. He predeceased his mother, who passed away two weeks exactly after he died. His father, Ray Elliott Hollowell, Sr., died in 1970, when Ray was 26. Ray’s brother, Patrick Alexander Hollowell (wife Nuris), passed away August 25, 2025 in Charlotte, NC.

Ray is survived by his loving partner of 13 years, Linda Selby, his two step sons, Bryan Patrick Butler, Brandon Nathaniel Butler, two daughters, Morgan Elizabeth Vuyovich (Brent Vuyovich) and Logan Margaret Hollowell (fiancé Adam Waldman) and the mother of his children, Donna Hollowell. He has three granddaughters, Saylor (13), Violet (11) and Adelia (8) Vuyovich. Ray’s love for the Lord and for his family will be remembered by all of us.
