Neil C. Bennett, Sr.
C. Bennett Sr. of Coinjock (born Sept 24, 1948) the son of late Arthur
and Dorothy Bennett of Salem, New Jersey was called home to meet his
lord and savior after a furious battle with cancer. He was a
humble man with a big heart that loved to tell stories about hunting,
fishing, and what he called the good old days. He was a man of
honor, but loved a good joke. He was a big guy, and a
Marine of a very big war. He would tell you stories of that war
that would make your skin crawl. You would never know it, and
that is one thing that plagued Neil his whole life. He dealt with
untreated PTSD that no one recognized until the very last years of his
life. Once he discovered the disease and understood how to beat it, he
got a new lease on life. With this new outlook of what war takes
from you after the battle, he chose to embrace every minute with family
