Allen Wayne Phillips
Kill Devil Hills, NC - Allen
Wayne Phillips, 77, died Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mr. Phillips was born in Lakewood,
NJ and moved to the Outer Banks
in 2006 upon retiring as a Plastics Supervisor.
He served in the U S Navy as an Airman aboard the USS Forrestal (CVA59)
and the USS Saratoga (CVA60) on which he received membership in the Royal Order
of the Blue Noses upon crossing the Arctic Circle
in September 1957.
He was an avid fisherman loving surf and sound alike. He enjoyed many hours in his boat “IRISH AYES
II” cruising the bays and sounds of the Outer Banks looking for that great
fishing hole; which I bet he has now found.
He is survived by his wife of 52 yrs, Maureen Coles Phillips, 3
children, Robin Ruggiero and husband Andy Ruggiero and their children, AJ, Sam,
Cliff and Rob; Kelly Rosamilia and husband Ralph Rosamilia their children
Annabell, Zackary, Amanda and Marisa; and Jason Phillips and his wife Kristen

Maryanne of NJ, sisters-in-law Denise Koziatek of NJ, Patricia Malson of Fla.,

and nephews in NJ and Fla.
Wayne, as known to most,
will be remembered as a wonderful husband, loving dad (BOSS), grandfather (POP)
and a great uncle and friend. He had a reputation for being ready to lend a
hand and give an honest opinion whenever asked. He will be in our hearts

Rosamilia’s home on May 6th after 3 PM.
